This David Copperfield shit. Just WHAT THE FUCK!
 

Sure seems to me like somebody just framed this woman for prostitution in order to get the rape charges against David Copperfield dropped.
 

I don’t know if Copperfield raped her, or if she lied, or what… but the fucked up reportage of this incident is enough to piss me the fuck off. And ya know, I quote this shit, and then want to bold it to point out the egregious parts, but all of it is egregious!
 

 
The earliest report I’ve read is on the Seattle Times site from January 12th:
 

The woman, 22, a former contestant in the Miss Washington pageant, was questioned last month by Bellevue police after a businessman accused her of trying to extort $2,000 from him for sex, according to police reports.

Federal prosecutors are not saying there is a link between its decision not to charge Copperfield and the Bellevue investigation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to make further comment.

A civil suit filed by the woman against Copperfield is pending.

…detectives say they believe there is evidence to support charges of prostitution and giving false statements to officers, according to police documents obtained by The Times.

“There is evidence to support that [the woman] made false or misleading material statements to [police] after she reported being assaulted,” Bellevue Police Detective Jerry Johnson wrote in a Dec. 21 case summary.

The victim of the alleged extortion, a 31-year-old single man, told police he knew the woman as a waitress at a Bellevue club he frequents. On Dec. 2, he said, he met her and a friend at another club where they were drinking. He said the woman was sexually aggressive and agreed to go to a hotel with him.

They ended up at the Bellevue Club, where he rented a $370 room and bought a $100 bottle of Champagne. Inside the room, the two engaged in a sex act until the woman allegedly told him, “put $2,000 in my purse and you can have it all,” according to the man’s statement to police.

When he refused, he said, she left the room, leaving behind her panties and tights. The man said he went to the lobby and found the woman claiming to hotel staff that she had been “taken advantage of.”

The man said he called police to report that he believed he was about to be extorted.

The woman called police minutes later to report she had been assaulted. She told officers that she could not recall going to the hotel and woke up to find the man on top of her, pinning her arms to the hotel bed.

The woman was taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center for a rape examination. However, she later said she was reluctant to release the results to police, according to reports.

 Her reason, she said, was the then-pending FBI investigation into her allegations that Copperfield had lured her to his private $50 million island in the Bahamas after meeting her at a performance in Kennewick in 2007.

The woman refused to sign over the medical documents to police, who obtained them after filing a search warrant. The reports showed no physical injuries nor the presence of any “date rape” drugs in her system. The reports note the woman had a blood-alcohol level of 0.14 percent, nearly twice the legal limit for intoxication.

“Her recorded statement … was very vague and her statements to police of being in a blackout state are not supported by the hotel security videos, hotel staff statements” or the statements of the alleged victim, Johnson, the Bellevue detective, wrote in a referral for charges dated Dec. 12.

The man provided police with a 74-page statement and turned over his cellphone, which contained text messages that officers believe supported his story.

… Bellevue detectives concluded the woman’s statements were inconsistent with numerous witness statements and surveillance videotapes from two downtown Bellevue hotels where the couple tried to get a room.

“She doesn’t remember because she was intoxicated,” responded Becky Roe, a Seattle lawyer who is representing the woman in her civil case against Copperfield. “She has been under incredible scrutiny. Copperfield has tremendous resources. I think in the end you’re going to find out that this case is completely overblown.”

Roe said the civil case against Copperfield will continue and that the decision by federal prosecutors not to seek charges means that additional information from the FBI’s investigation into what happened in the Bahamas will now be available.

She had a blood-alchohol whatever at  ”0.14 percent, nearly twice the legal limit” – so girl was drunk. Did she get that drunk AFTER the anonymous man ordered the champagne – meaning did she get that drunk in ~20 minutes or so? Fuck no, he was taking her to a hotel room and she was drunk already. Isn’t there some law about consent? And you can’t actually get consent if a person is drunk?  Oh yeah though, the “witnesses” and the tapes can prove she wasn’t THAT drunk. K. Sure. When can I see those tapes?  She was SEXUALLY AGRESSIVE?! And he took her to two hotels looking for rooms, and she left her underwear or tights or whatever – what fucking prostitute does that?! I dunno, I’ve forgotten stuff now and then, but I’ve had a few occasions where the dude was an ass and I decided to leave pissed off or whatever – but I’d especially make sure to grab all my stuff… for exactly this sort of reason, it’s evidence. That she left that evidence says to me that it was in no way “prostitution”. 
 

$2000? Really. Mmm hmmm. Totally explains the waitressing job. Oh yah oh yah… I can hear the whorephobic whorehaters already, well she can pick up clients at work… yah.. what fucking fictional world are you people living in? Mid-Act she says “put 2 grand in my purse and you can have it all” — really?? What prostitute does that?…. OH WAIT! That’s right it she was, according to the police, “trying to extort $2,000 from him for sex”. I’d expect she’d be charged with extortion. Or don’t they have enough evidence for that charge to stick? Who the fuck calls the cops because they are afraid some rape alleger/waitress is going to try to “extort” them by getting fuck-all drunk and offering to sell you sex?! It’s fucking ridiculous.

So of COURSE they charge her with prostitution, who would ever doubt that a former beauty pageant contestant would be anything BESIDES a prostitute? They are already used to being “objectified” and “sexualized” so they must be used to selling sex and getting raped and also confusing the two now and then.
 

But ARGH! Didn’t even sound like she was making a police report or anything, giving her the benefit of the doubt. She didn’t even want to release her medical records to them, she wasn’t the first one to call the police, she wasn’t the one to submit a 74 page statement AND turn over a personal cell phone – with convenient messages about prostitution, supposedly.
 

The above article is an earlier report, but today was when the woman’s name was released, and the reports from today are all sorts of fucked up. Here‘s the Seattle Times article from today, but they don’t mention that the woman called the police, it says that she went to the desk and requested a TAXI and said she’d been “taken advantage of” —  all it says is that the guy called the cops… and it details how there was another girl, and witnesses overheard the anonymous dude telling her that the other female would be catching up to them soon, to hang out in the room and have a threesome. Sounds like he was a big fucking liar about that.
 

TMZ says (and the bolding is in the original):
 

As they began having sex she allegedly told him, “Put $2,000 in my purse and you can have it all.” The man says when he refused to fork over the money, she told police he had forced himself upon her.

Shortly after making the report, she refused to cooperate, claiming she had another case going (Copperfield) and felt the new claim would “tarnish the other case.”

Authorities didn’t believe her and charged her with filing a false police report and prostitution.

THAT is the most terrifying part about it. That better not be all the “evidence” they need to charge a now 23 year old woman with prostitution and filing false allegations, as well as having her rape case dismissed. It’s clearly all that is needed to have it reported as gospel in the media. How fucking Orwellian IS that? You know there’s more they ain’t telling us, lots more…
 

The fucking local police over there, the prosecutors, some anonymous businessman, whoever signed off on that “statement of probable cause”, not to mention Harvey Levin who is a lawyer, and who I once had a dream about; I needed him to help me fight the government because the gov’t sent kittens to “quarter my house” and it was in violation of a constitutional amendment, and I couldn’t remember which one, so I had to go find Harvey Levin before I could stop all the kittens… but ya know what – in my dream he didn’t know which amendment it was (3rd) so I shouldn’t be surprised that he isn’t calling this out as the bullshit it is – but those other folks should know better. What’s more – they should know that WE know better. We do know better, don’t we?

These developments vindicate Mr. Copperfield and confirm what he has said all along—this woman tried to extort money from him by making a false claim. Thankfully, authorities have now stepped in to stop her.”

 
OMG! How fucking smarmy is that “yet another false claim of rape” – so natch, Copperfield is vindicated? As far as I know it’s only him that she accused and then this shady bullshit referenced above.
 

I mean this aggression will not stand, man! If she lied about the Copperfield assault they have to PROVE SHE LIED ABOUT THAT ASSAULT —- because this shit is fucking blatant if you ask me —- if it looks like a set up and talks like a set up and walks like a set up, it’s usually a fucking set up. Blatant, discrediting a woman who claims she was assaulted by using prostitution accusations. This is what it’s gonna come down to ladies, don’t let this shit slide by… I don’t care if it turns out she was everything bad and then some — even better —- because if nobody even questions this, if it just slides by – what’s to stop the next powerful man, with money to spend, who actually IS a rapist from using this sort of tactic to discredit his victims.
 

NOT TO MENTION THAT PROSTITUTES DO GET RAPED. And awesome great wonderful yay, now it’s all balled up together with potential false rape allegations, extortion, whores accused of taking advantage of harmless innocent multi-millionaire magicians! Are you fucking kidding me?
 

This is BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD. And argh, she wasn’t even a prostitute! They use the accusation to discredit her! In a RAPE CASE! OMG!
 

And for the love of god, Washington state? That’s Linda Smith’s stomping ground, she’s so trafficking-aware – does she not care that IF this chick IS a prostitute, then Copperfield is guilty of SEX TRAFFICKING because he took her to Bermuda? Where’s the goddamn justice there, Linda? Why dontcha tell your anti-trafficking troops to go round up Copperfield and put him in jail for SEVENTEEN YEARS like that 19 year old black kid who was sentenced for “pimping teenage girls.” That was the work of the “King County Prosecutor’s Office” too didn’t have to pass him off to the city courts and a misdemeanor charge though. But it’s so good to know they really DO care about women!
 

If she is truthful, I hope she gets the evidence she needs to sue the cape off of Copperfield.
