What Is Wrong With These People?
Seriously – Here’s a discussion from BBC radio I think (do they even have radios over there? : P ) and it says it’s only available online for a few more days, so listen while you can.
1) They have a panel discussion of 3 anti-prostitution moral crusader types – (who say things like it’s good to stigmatize prostitution, so good girls won’t stray) – and just one “former prostitute”/journalist/mother of 6 kids who also -kicker!: went to jail for making false rape allegations -which of COURSE bothers the hell out of me and that shit ought to bother the hell out of everyone but here’s the thing that all y’all haters better understand – really fucking understand – that’s why they chose her – to discredit the prostitute’s rights movement. If you think they did the right thing by trying to discredit the prostitution rights movement you’re an asshole. It’s fair and balanced don’t ya know, because they have the sacrificial lying dirty whore there to represent all the rest of us lying dirty whores. Wonderful.
- Someone at the forum I found this on, which I will endeavor to find the link to in a moment (ah-ha) observed something about one of the moral crusaders that was really key -
“In any other context this woman would probably be a vigorous supporter of minority rights. But on this one subject the whole thing is stood on it’s head and the minority (Assuming they actually are a minority) have to forego their rights for the greater good.” -
But actually, what I found out is these folks aren’t actually supporters of minority rights of any kind – google yourselves up some Feminist Legal Theory or feminist jurisprudence or hell, the classic Toward a Feminist Theory of the State and maybe even “Shool of Statecraft” and !challenge! how many folks at the ‘school of statecraft’ are also involved in the anti-trafficking movement? have fun with that shit, ‘cuz it’s really starting to depress me. Every thing I read, all the “theories” they tout, are based in authoritarianism and they are broad-based attacks on our rights to free speech. Birth control information used to be considered obscenity because it talked plainly about sex and offered descriptive diagrams of sexual organs. We’re headed right back to that. Think it can’t happen? It can. The idea is that we need to give up having any actual rights if we really want to be “equal” – because, hey, able-bodied cis-het white men don’t get special privileges so why should anyone else, – and oh yeah women are especially stupid and they’ll turn into sluts if you don’t keep an eye on them.
Look at these daughters of privilege who say they are “feminists” working to support “women’s rights issues” for so long – and then understand that sure – they ain’t lying, but they are working on “women’s rights issues” for the side who don’t actually want women to have rights!! They’ve given us theories, — which for the love of god I’ve never seen such circular logic in all my life – how hard it must be for them to have to find some other “it’s just wrong!” to fall back on besides the bible – and they attack evolutionary biology, and evolutionary psychology! Shit. Project much? Men rape because they can so they do it and oppress us so now they do it to oppress us so they can rape us more so they can oppress us more… etc… and it’s got nothing at all to do with women having to bear the children and feed them – I mean YES THAT’S right if’n you say it’s cultural construct, I gotta agree, it’s just that we are so brainwashed into believing that females produce breast milk and the brainwashing is what makes the milk! If we construct it, it will come! Of course, Kevin Costner knew it all along. That makes more sense than hormones and biology and consciousness? Yep, I know, it’s that consciousness that makes us so “special” and us humans are different and better than all the other beasts and so I better not even dare to say that ‘hey- we have sex like animals because we are animals’ , because hell no – we’re damn near top o’ the line right up there next to God hisself. I hope you’re not thinking “formula” because that would make you a privileged westernized weak-minded self-centered funfunfun! type of person who doesn’t even take into account that poor women don’t have access to formula! You selfish pig. — but really they’ve just stolen radical feminist theory and boxed it up with a nice thick frosting of paternalistic condescention and marginalization.
which totally reminds me – HEY! here’s a cool book! And this is truly awesome!
2) whoever the asker dude is, is a real hoot. He says to the sacrificial whore, basically : “If prostitution is made acceptable then what happens when a regular woman doesn’t have her rent, what’s to stop her landlord from demanding oral sex?” – ah yes. I’m convinced. I guess it’s just too complicated to have a law that says if a person wants to accept a tangible gift after sex they can do that; AND a law that says landlords cannot demand sex in exchange for rent? I mean – laws like that would be utter chaos! How could we keep track of all that stuff?
